Shape equitable healthcare experiences as a Consultant for Diverse Cultural Communities at IWK Health in Halifax. This full-time position centers on supporting newcomers and immigrants through culturally responsive practices.
As a part of the Health Equity, Safety, and Wellness team, your role involves guiding healthcare staff on cultural issues, developing programs, and easing access to services for diverse populations. You will work collaboratively to address disparities and foster a supportive environment for all patients and families.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide cultural guidance to healthcare teams
• Build strong community connections with diverse groups
• Identify and address barriers to service access
• Support internal and community collaborative projects
• Evaluate programs and report on cultural safety outcomes
Requirements:
• Community or Career College Diploma (2-3 years)
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience
• Strong analytical abilities for identifying access challenges
• Required fluency in both Arabic and English
• Adapt communication strategies for various stakeholders
