Careers  Full Stack Developer – Shopify Expert
We specialize in maximizing revenue potential for B2B manufacturers.

Our clients sell within complex, technical environments and we help them take a more targeted, account-focused approach to drive revenue growth within niche markets.

We believe that to do work that matters, we must be an agency where

People Matter . We’ve built an inclusive culture in which different perspectives contribute to creating our best work. We enthusiastically welcome and consider all qualified applicants, view diversity as a strength and mindfully work to create equity in our team.

We’re on the hunt for a ridiculously talented and experienced  Full Stack Developer – Shopify Expert  with a strong focus on theme and custom app development. While Shopify expertise is critical, we highly value candidates with experience in, or enthusiasm for, developing on other major CMS platforms (e.g. Word Press, Hub Spot) and libraries (e.g. React) for this full-time agency role.

As our newest Full Stack Developer, you’ll work closely with Kula’s cross-functional teams of exceptional marketers, developers, designers, and strategists. We are located in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, and support WFH or hybrid work arrangements.

We offer:

Flexible work environment with in-office, hybrid, and remote options

A minimum of 4 weeks paid time off plus your birthday

Generous company-matched RRSP contribution program

What you will do:

Implement and maintain Shopify custom apps to extend Shopify functionality and connect Shopify to other third-party platforms using API integrations (REST/Graph

QL).

Collaborate with designers to ensure front-end implementations accurately reflect original, stunning designs and adhere to UX best practices.

Grasp UX principles and best practices with an emphasis on  accessibility and site performance .

What You’ll Have:

At least three years of hands‑on experience specifically in  Shopify theme and custom app development .

Expertise in the  Shopify Liquid templating language .

Proven experience with a server‑side language (e.g.,  Ruby, Node.js, or PHP ) used for building  custom Shopify applications .

Familiarity with the  Shopify CLI  and best practices for theme development and deployment.

Experience with or interest in developing on other prominent CMS platforms, such as Word Press and/or Hub Spot, and libraries such as React.

Even Better If You:

Have created apps using modern Shopify development tools like  Hydrogen or Remix .

Have previously built accessible websites, compliant with  WCAG standards .

Have previously worked in an Agile development environment.

Enjoy interacting with customers to gather requirements as well as represent your own work.

Are energized by working with a high‑performing team that loves nothing more than consistently delivering exceptional products to their customers.

How to apply:

We’re most concerned with your work, not where you went to school or what agencies/tech companies you’ve worked at. While we appreciate any and all applications, only those applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.
