Senior Java FSE with Angular (Hybrid)

In this role, you will   Design, develop, and maintain full stack web applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular
Build RESTful APIs and integrate them with front-end components
Develop responsive, reusable, and maintainable UI components using Angular (latest versions preferred-17+), Type Script, HTML5, and CSS3
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards
Participate in the full software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support
Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, QA, and Dev Ops teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
Optimize application performance, scalability, and security
Write and maintain unit and integration tests (JUnit, Jasmine/Karma)
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues as needed
Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements

What you need to have to be considered  Backend:
Strong hands-on experience with  Java (8/11/17+)

Experience with  Spring Framework / Spring Boot / Spring MVC / Spring Security
RESTful  API  design and development

Experience with Hibernate/JPA and relational databases ( MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle , or similar)
Familiarity with microservices architecture
Frontend:
Strong hands-on experience with  Angular (Angular 17+)
Proficiency in  Type Script, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3

Experience with  RxJS, NgRx , or other state management libraries (preferred)
Experience consuming REST  APIs  from Angular applications
Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
General:

Experience with Git and version control workflows
Familiarity with build tools ( Maven/Gradle ) and package managers (npm/yarn)

Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or similar)
Knowledge of containerization ( Docker ) and cloud platforms ( AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus )
Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
These will help you stand out   

Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration
Exposure to message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine, Karma, Jest)

Experience with API gateways and service mesh

Total compensation  We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges  between $60,300 – $117,500 (CAD) per year.  Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
