Halifax Municipal Street Sweeper Operator

Join Halifax Regional Municipality as a Utility Operator 1 specializing in Street Sweeping operations. This full-time position emphasizes safety and team collaboration.

In this role within Infrastructure Maintenance & Operations, you will be responsible for safely operating a street sweeper and maintaining equipment. You will assist in meeting HRM's operational goals and contribute to a cleaner community. Your experience in operating heavy machinery and teamwork will be essential to this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate mechanical and vacuum street sweepers

• Load and unload equipment and materials as needed

• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition

• Assist in achieving operational objectives

• Participate in winter maintenance work as required

Requirements:

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent experience

• Class 3 Nova Scotia Driver’s License with air brake endorsement

• One year of experience operating under a Class 3 license

• Completion of HRM Mechanical Sweeper training

• Proven good driving record and attendance
