Responsibilities- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Drive as part of a two‑person team or convoy.
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Perform brake adjustments.
- Conduct pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance.
- Perform preventive maintenance.
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
- Must perform duties that contribute to positive environmental outcomes.
