Position Overview
The Store Controller will report to the IMP Aerospace and Defence location near the Halifax International Airport.

What You Will Do

Complete shipping and receiving documentation and verify and trace incoming and outgoing parts, supplies and material.

Package items for outgoing shipments and affix identifying information and shipping instructions.

Receive, sort and issue/route incoming parts and supplies.

Pick and prepare transfers to Main Operating Bases (MOB) as well as internal production teams.

Process incoming requisitions and distribute parts/supplies.

Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods.

Count stock, complete stock‑taking investigations for evaluation and reviews and recommend stock adjustments, stock levels for approval.

Move material through operations as directed by Management/Lead Hand for items manufactured, repaired or overhauled by the company.

Research and collect data information, input data and produce various reports, including computer‑generated reports.

Sweep and clean warehouse, sub‑stores and adjacent areas, ensuring order and cleanliness in the workplace is of a high standard.

Prepare material transaction vouchers and other Stores logistics documents. Write memoranda and messages on material requirements, complete approved amendments to publications, and carry out filing, record keeping and detailed register entries.

Set up cutting tools/equipment and cut/distribute material for Production and Manufacturing Operations.

Operate truck, forklifts and other machinery/equipment used in the handling of material.

Assist and provide on‑job training to other personnel in the Stores Controller trade.

Perform other related duties as directed by Management.

What You Will Bring

At least two years experience in inventory control, preferably in a warehouse or storeroom.

Forklift Operator certification or ability to obtain certification.

Physical ability to perform the role.

Knowledge of inventory control methods, manuals and computerized record keeping systems and procedures.

Ability to work independently and to make independent judgments.

Skill in operating a computer with its related software relevant to the position.

Basic knowledge of WHMIS regulations and other regulations, as they relate to shipping.

Current provincial driver’s license.

Acceptable attendance and performance records.

Incumbents may be required to operate equipment including warehouse aids, hand bench cutting tools and various vehicles.

Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies, and fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.

Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 5S activities in your area.

Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC‑Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
