The Selector II is a key member of the warehouse team responsible for accurately and efficiently selecting and preparing customer orders for delivery. This role requires a higher level of skill and responsibility, demonstrating increased efficiency, accuracy, and the ability to handle more complex orders.
Responsibilities
Order Selection:
Accurately select and gather products from warehouse shelves according to customer orders using pick sheets, voice‑directed systems, or other order fulfillment technologies.
Ensure the correct quantity, quality, and product codes are selected for each order.
Stage selected products for loading onto delivery trucks in a timely and organized manner, optimizing space utilization.
Inventory Accuracy:
Identify and report any discrepancies in inventory to supervisors.
Assist with cycle counts and inventory adjustments as needed.
Equipment Operation:
Safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, order pickers, and voice‑directed picking systems.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
Teamwork:
May assist in training new selectors on safe work practices and order selection procedures.
Collaborate with other warehouse personnel to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations.
Skills
Proven ability to accurately and efficiently select orders with minimal errors.
Proficiency in operating material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, order pickers, and voice‑directed picking systems.
Physical strength to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) frequently.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when selecting and staging orders.
Strong awareness of safety procedures and the ability to work safely in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and assist in training new team members.
Certifications
Forklift certification preferred.
Voice‑directed picking system training preferred.
Education
High school diploma or GED
Experience
2+ years of experience
