Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Senior Accountant role based in Halifax. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing a portfolio of limited company clients on a day-to-day basis, acting as their main point of contact and providing ongoing accounting and tax support.
Key responsibilities include the preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns, as well as overseeing daily accounting operations. The role involves preparing and reviewing financial reports, analysing financial data, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and monitoring client accounts.
Additional duties include supervising ledger entries, assisting with budgets and forecasts, identifying financial trends, and providing commercial insights to help clients improve financial performance. The Senior Accountant will work closely with clients to deliver high‑quality advice across accounting, tax, and compliance matters.
Qualifications- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance
- Proven experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns for limited companies
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients, ideally within an accountancy practice
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team interaction
- Proficiency in accounting software and modern IT systems
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional qualification (ACCA, AAT, or equivalent) preferred
- Previous experience working with a varied client base across multiple industries
