Calderdale Adult Learning is on a journey to become an exceptional provider, with learners at the centre of everything we do. We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and adaptable tutor to deliver learning on our ENGAGE programme, supporting adult learners who are often taking their first steps back into education, training, or employment.
Responsibilities- Deliver wellbeing and confidence focused employability courses to adult learners.
- Assess learners’ starting points and plan and deliver inclusive, learner‑centred sessions that are accessible, engaging, and responsive.
- Create a safe, supportive, and low‑pressure learning environment, helping learners re‑engage with learning at a pace that is right for them.
- Use a creative and flexible approach to teaching, blending wellbeing, employability, personal development, and essential skills.
- Build self‑confidence, motivation, resilience and wellbeing while providing practical grounding in employability skills.
- Support learners to develop communication skills, understand workplace behaviours, and build basic essential skills.
- Work multi‑disciplinarily, integrating wellbeing, employability, personal development and essential skills to help learners recognise their strengths and potential.
- Provide high quality Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) and support learners to explore realistic and meaningful next steps into employment, training, volunteering or further learning.
- Monitor learner progress, celebrate achievements, and adapt delivery to maintain engagement and build confidence over time.
- Respond sensitively to barriers such as anxiety, low confidence or previous negative experiences of education.
- Embed wider skills such as British Values, Safeguarding and Prevent, Equality and Diversity into teaching.
- Minimum Level 3 teaching qualification.
- Proven track record of teaching adult or community learners.
- Teaching experience essential within adult or community education.
