Empowering Learning is recruiting for a secondary generic specialist school, organised into four discrete learning pathways:
Sensory, Emergent, Se mi‑formal, and Formal. Students typically work at pre‑EYFS and primary levels of development and use a range of communication methods, including verbal communication, signing, visual symbols, and AAC approaches. A challenging yet highly rewarding school environment, are seeking a practitioner who is dedicated, compassionate, and driven to make a meaningful difference to young people with SEND. The school has two sites.
This post requires teaching of one day a the KS3/KS4 site with emergent and semi-formal learners. The remaining four days would be at the Post 14 site with semi-formal and formal learners.
Role Requirements:
Ability to teach across the full secondary age range and all four pathways, with a particular focus on the Semi‑formal and Formal pathways.
Strong planning and delivery of high‑quality, engaging, and differentiated lessons.
Willingness and capability to teach a range of subjects; however, a strong subject knowledge in Science would be advantageous.
Competence in providing personalised learning experiences tailored to a wide range of special educational needs.
Commitment to promoting academic progress, personal development, social inclusion, and positive behaviour.
Confidence in working collaboratively with families, colleagues, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for students.
Ability to contribute to a safe, supportive, creative, and aspirational environment that helps learners fulfil their potential and prepare for life beyond school.
Previous experience Teaching in SEND Schools would be ideal, but not essential. Full training from the school is provided.

Proactive and versatile individual
The ability to think outside-the-box, on-the-spot and use your initiative when needed
Strong communication and organisational skills
Strong behavioural management skills
