We are currently recruiting motivated and reliable Cover Supervisors to work within secondary schools across Halifax. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced support staff, or individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience within education.
The Role:As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and focused on the work that has been set.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Supervising students and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Encouraging student participation and engagement
- Supporting students to complete assigned tasks and activities
- Recording attendance and reporting any concerns to teaching staff
- Upholding safeguarding procedures and school expectations at all times
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence managing groups of students in a classroom environment
- Excellent organisational and behaviour management skills
- A professional, proactive, and flexible approach
- Experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
- A genuine interest in education and supporting student success
- Graduates considering a career in teaching
- Aspiring teachers seeking classroom experience
- Experienced Teaching Assistants looking to progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
