Do you have experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Are you confident working with Looked After Children (LAC) and those within the care system? Have you previously worked in a residential support role?
The RoleWorking within a small, specialist school designed for Looked After Children who have experienced early trauma, you will provide vital classroom support. You will help pupils to succeed within an educational setting by using a therapeutic approach to behaviour, teaching, and learning. The school caters for students across Key Stage 1 through to Key Stage 4 and delivers a broad, balanced curriculum.
A strong pastoral approach is essential; your role will involve supporting students to re‑engage with education while promoting emotional wellbeing and positive self‑regulation.
- A qualified Teaching Assistant or experienced Residential Support Worker, with a background supporting young people with SEMH, autism, ADHD, or additional needs.
- Skilled in working with children who display challenging behaviour and have experienced trauma.
- A strong communicator, able to engage students and maintain their focus.
- Passionate about encouraging wellbeing, independence, and positive social development.
