Overview
Secondary schools across Halifax are seeking confident, enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join their teams this September. This role offers valuable classroom experience with flexibility to fit around your lifestyle.
Responsibilities- Lead lessons using work prepared by the class teacher
- Keep pupils engaged and maintain a positive learning environment
- Ensure learning continues in the teacher’s absence
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects
- Manage classroom behaviour with confidence and consistency
- Encourage pupils to stay engaged and complete their work
- Support students throughout the lesson where needed
- Gain experience across welcoming secondary schools in Halifax
No planning or marking is required in this role; it focuses on delivering prepared lessons and supporting students.
Qualifications and experience- Experience working with young people in any setting
- Confidence speaking in front of groups and leading a classroom
- Positive attitude and ability to think on your feet
- Enjoy building relationships and helping young people succeed
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
