You will provide advice on the implications of proposed developments in terms of compliance with local, regional and national policies and plans, ensuring integration of land use and transport planning. You will also develop sustainable and maintainable solutions, identify opportunities for Section 38, 106 and 278 agreements and secure commuted sums in accordance with the Council’s policy. You will represent the Council at Planning Committee and Planning Appeals, preparing statements and evidence to required timescales and quality.
You will visit sites, attend site meetings and hold a full driving licence. You will anticipate opportunities to maximise the benefits of our own programmes of work.
- Appreciation of traffic modelling programmes.
- Excellent management, communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience of public speaking in a challenging environment and working with elected members, and experience in Highway Development Control (desirable but not mandatory).
- Full driving licence.
- Ability to work flexibly from home and office.
