Accounts / Credit Control Assistant
📍 Halifax
🕒 34 hours per week (Mon–Thurs 9:00am–5:00pm, Fri 9:00am–4:30pm)

The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Accounts / Credit Control Assistant to join a busy and supportive finance team in Halifax. This role would suit someone with strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and a keen interest in developing their finance and analytical skills within a collaborative environment.

The Role
You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accurate record keeping, assisting with reporting, and acting as a point of contact for both internal teams and external clients.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Ledger & Credit Control

* Setting up new client accounts

* Recording and allocating cash receipts

* Reconciling cash receipt books and identifying discrepancies

* Issuing client statements and handling related queries

Data & Reporting

* Preparing monthly client reports

* Reconciling data across multiple systems

* Managing and analysing large data sets

* Investigating discrepancies and producing ad hoc reports

Queries & Stakeholder Support

* Responding to internal and external finance queries

* Supporting teams with invoicing best practice

* Ensuring timely resolution and escalation where needed

General Finance Administration

* Managing shared accounts inbox

* Supporting document management and filing

* Assisting with year-end processes and archiving

About You

* Previous experience in accounts, finance or credit control

* Strong numerical and analytical skills

* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

* Confident using Excel and Microsoft Office

* Strong communication and organisational skills

* Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload

* Proactive, reliable and a strong team player

* Willingness to learn and develop new skills

Desirable

* Experience working with overseas clients or multiple currencies
