We are working with one of the UK's leading loss adjusting companies who are looking for an experienced Commercial & Property Claims Handler to join its growing claims management team.

The role will see you supporting a key client across a number of bespoke insurance schemes, managing a varied caseload of commercial and residential property claims, including high value and more complex losses. You will manage claims from first notification through to settlement, ensuring they are handled efficiently and to a high standard throughout.

This is a hands on role where you will have real ownership of your claims, working closely with customers, clients, insurers and other stakeholders to keep everything moving and achieve the right outcome. You will be trusted to use your technical knowledge, make sound decisions and provide a high level of service throughout the claims process.

• Manage a caseload of commercial and residential property claims from first notification through to settlement.
• Deal with high value and complex claims, assessing the circumstances, liability and appropriate next steps.
• Investigate claims by gathering and reviewing relevant evidence, reports and supporting information.
• Review policy terms and assess whether claims are covered.
• Negotiate settlements within agreed authority levels.
• Work with external suppliers including loss adjusters, contractors, surveyors and legal representatives.
• Keep claims moving and make sure actions are followed up and completed within the required timescales.

• Act as a key contact for a major client across a number of insurance schemes.
• Build good working relationships with brokers, policyholders, suppliers and internal teams.
• Keep clients and other stakeholders updated on claim progress, issues and any potential concerns.
• Provide a professional and customer focused service throughout the claims process.
• Deal with queries and more challenging situations calmly and professionally.

• Handle claims in line with regulatory requirements, internal processes and agreed client service levels.
• Keep claim files accurate, complete and up to date.
• Ensure claims systems are updated promptly with all relevant information.
• Identify potential fraud and raise any concerns through the appropriate channels.
• Keep an eye out for recurring issues, risks and areas where processes could be improved.
• Share knowledge and good claims handling practices with the wider team.
• Support improvements to claims processes, documentation and the overall service provided.

We are looking for an experienced Claims Handler with a robust background in commercial and residential property claims.

• At least 2 years experience handling property claims
• Experience handling both commercial and residential property claims.
• Experience dealing with high value and complex property claims.
• A good understanding of property insurance policies, coverage and claims processes.
• Experience assessing claims information, reviewing evidence and making informed decisions on liability and settlement.
• Confident communication skills, with the ability to deal professionally with policyholders, clients, brokers and suppliers.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to reach appropriate settlements within agreed authority levels.
• Experience managing a caseload independently and keeping claims progressing within agreed timescales.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing multiple claims and deadlines.
• Experience working with loss adjusters, contractors, surveyors and other external suppliers.
• Good written skills, with the ability to produce clear claim notes, correspondence and updates.
• A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider claims team.
