Caritas Group Practice is a friendly, ambitious and progressive GP practice caring for approximately 8,000 patients across three sites in Halifax. We are seeking an exceptional Practice Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operational management of the practice, working closely with the GP Partners, clinical teams and wider staff to ensure the smooth, safe and efficient running of our services. - Strategic Leadership and Practice Development
- Work collaboratively with GP Partners and the leadership team to develop and deliver the practice vision, objectives and operational plans.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement, innovation and growth.
- Support the development of new models of care and collaborative working with the North Halifax Primary Care Network and other healthcare partners.
- Lead on implementing change effectively, ensuring staff engagement and successful delivery.
- Contribute to practice strategy, business planning and future development.
- Operational Management
- Oversee the day‑to‑day management of the practice, ensuring services run safely, efficiently and effectively across all sites.
- Develop and maintain robust systems and processes to support high‑quality patient care.
- Monitor practice performance and implement improvements where required.
- Ensure appropriate management of premises, equipment, facilities and practice resources.
- Work with clinical and administrative teams to optimise workflow and improve patient experience.
- Leadership and Workforce Management
- Provide effective leadership, support and guidance to administrative and non‑clinical teams.
- Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
- Manage recruitment, induction, training and retention of staff.
- Support staff development through regular supervision, appraisals and performance reviews.
- Ensure appropriate workforce planning to meet service demands.
- Promote effective communication across the whole practice team.
- Financial Management
- Work with GP Partners to ensure effective financial management and sustainability of the practice.
- Support preparation and monitoring of budgets, income and expenditure.
- Identify opportunities for improving efficiency and value for money.
- Oversee financial processes including payroll, purchasing and supplier management.
- Ensure appropriate financial controls and reporting systems are maintained.
- Governance, Quality and Compliance
- Ensure the practice maintains compliance with relevant NHS regulations, contractual requirements and professional standards.
- Support preparation for inspections, audits and external reviews.
- Maintain effective systems for risk management, health and safety, safeguarding and information governance.
- Lead and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure practice policies and procedures are reviewed, updated and implemented effectively.
- Patient Experience and Service Improvement
- Promote a patient‑centred approach across all areas of practice activity.
- Monitor patient feedback, complaints and suggestions, ensuring learning and improvement.
