The Flavour Network is working with a well-established manufacturing business in Halifax that is seeking an experienced Fabrication Manager to lead and develop its fabrication department. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys driving performance, quality, and continuous improvement.
As Fabrication Manager, you will coordinate and manage the day-to-day operations of the fabrication department, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and customer deadlines are consistently met.
Key responsibilities for the Fabrication Manager:
* Managing the full fabrication process from start to finish
* Planning, organising and scheduling production to meet project deadlines
* Leading and developing a team of skilled fabricators to maximise productivity
* Monitoring workflow and implementing process improvements
* Collaborating with engineering and procurement to ensure smooth project execution
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
* Monitoring fabrication costs and managing resources effectively
* Identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency
* Conducting performance reviews and supporting ongoing training and development
Requirements for the Fabrication Manager:
* Proven experience as a Fabrication Manager or in a similar leadership role within manufacturing
* Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, equipment and materials
* The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Experience with AutoCAD (essential)
* A solid understanding of quality control principles and ISO standards
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
* A proven track record of delivering against production targets
