Location: HX2 Area
Salary: From 27,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Thursday - 6:45am to 3:15pm
Friday - 6:45am to 11:45am
Overtime: Available
Job Type: Full Time Permanent

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Overhead Crane Operative to join a busy structural steel manufacturing facility based in the HX2 area.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure a permanent position with a well-established engineering business offering long-term career prospects, regular overtime and an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating overhead cranes to safely move structural steel throughout the workshop.
• Loading and unloading steel sections onto production machinery and transport vehicles.
• Supporting fabrication and production teams with the movement of materials.
• Carrying out pre-use checks on overhead crane equipment.
• Following safe lifting procedures and company health & safety procedures.
• Assisting with the organisation and storage of steel products.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Working efficiently to production schedules while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Experience Required

• Previous experience operating overhead cranes within a manufacturing, engineering or structural steel environment.
• Valid overhead crane certificate preferred (although experience is essential).
• Experience handling large steel sections or heavy engineering products.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and a positive attitude.
