A Mechanical Arborist carries out large-scale vegetation and tree management using mechanised equipment. The role supports projects across highways, woodland, moorland, and environmental sites where machinery is used to safely and efficiently manage vegetation.

Mechanical Arborists operate specialist plant and equipment to deliver services such as mechanised vegetation clearance, forestry operations, and habitat management.

• Operate mechanised vegetation management equipment
• Carry out large-scale vegetation clearance and forestry works
• Support moorland management and environmental restoration projects
• Conduct machinery checks, maintenance, and safety inspections
• Follow environmental and operational safety guidelines
• Work with site teams to deliver projects efficiently
• Operating flails, mulchers, and robo-cutters
• Excavator-mounted tree cutting or vegetation clearance equipment
• Forestry and woodland management operations
• Vegetation control along highways and infrastructure corridors
• Moorland scrub clearance and habitat management works
• Supporting natural flood management and land restoration projects
• Physically fit and capable of working in outdoor environments
• Awareness of safe machinery operation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Forestry or vegetation management experience
• Experience operating remote or specialist machinery
• Knowledge of habitat and environmental management practices
