Commercial​/Mid Corporate Account Executive; Inherited Portfolio

One of West Yorkshire's best-known brokers, this firm has had a presence in Halifax for a number of years and is home to some of its best known insurance practitioners. Unsurprisingly, its portfolio includes some of the region's largest and most coveted accounts, including well-known names from such sectors as Manufacturing, Retail and the Professions.

Due to the continued acquisition of quality accounts, the need has arisen for an additional Account Executive to join the team and inherit a portfolio of accounts. So broad is the branch's portfolio, that the accounts to be passed over can be tweaked to suit your skills, experience and ambitions. For example, you may be more comfortable with SME to middle-market risks paying commissions between £2,500 to £10,000.

Alternatively, you may currently be in the mid-corporate space, but want to push yourself to deal with even larger risks with complex global exposures that generate fees in excess of £50,000.

Either way, the focus here is very much on the management of existing business rather than developing new accounts. Of course, you will be encouraged to grow the account both organically, or by doing some new business, but the expectations in this regard are very realistic and there is telesales and marketing support on hand, if desired.

It is essential that you have a solid grounding in commercial broking, including knowledge of all common commercial covers such as Property, Liability, PI, D&O, Fleets etc. Whilst we would consider someone currently in a Broker / Account Handler role for an SME Account Executive position, to inherit more complex accounts you ideally need to be currently working as an Account Executive.

You must also be a team player, have excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest for the issues that can affect different businesses.

In return, you will receive a basic salary that is anticipated to be between £50,000 and £70,000 but entirely negotiable for outstanding candidates. You will also receive a generous bonus and a comprehensive range of benefits that can be tweaked to suit your personal circumstances.
