Horton Housing are currently recruiting for an experienced Engagement & Wellbeing worker for our scheme based in Halifax. Please be aware this role is only working on Saturdays and Sundays (permanently) during the hours of 1.30pm and 9pm (14 hours per week). The hourly rate is £13.45 (annual salary equates to £9,818.53). You will be entitled to 6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time colleagues) and have full access to our Employee Assistance Programme.

Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in exploring the interests of people living at Craven Mount and in the community and supporting them to engage in a range of activities. This may include cooking lessons, film nights, craft sessions, and game nights. You will have a vital role in uplifting and engaging the people in our scheme, providing company and an opportunity to learn new skills.

Skills and Experience
  • Be empathetic and caring, showing understanding and respect to people experiencing difficult circumstances
  • Be reliable and committed to the role and the service, with a pleasant and professional demeanour
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to accurately log incidents and handovers
  • Creative and proactive, with the ability to organise engaging and interesting activities
  • Experience of supporting people with complex needs, in a paid, voluntary or lived capacity would be advantageous
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle that can be insured for business use
