Housing Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated Housing Support Worker to assist clients transitioning from temporary to more permanent and suitable accommodation options such as supported accommodation, social housing, and private sector rentals. This role is crucial in ensuring that the right ongoing support is in place to guarantee successful tenancies. Day-to-day of the role:
Support clients moving from temporary to permanent accommodation, ensuring they receive the necessary ongoing support. Visit clients independently across the borough to assess and address their needs. Work both in the office and in the field, covering a duty rota to support frontline queries. Collaborate closely with clients to place them into tenancy accommodation and subsequently assist them in moving to privately rented accommodation.

Identify and address any safeguarding issues. Required Skills &

Qualifications:

Proven experience working with vulnerable individuals including singles and families. Understanding of various challenges such as mental and physical health issues, substance misuse, financial difficulties, and domestic abuse. Strong communication skills and knowledge of welfare benefits. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be a car user with the ability to travel across the borough for client visits.
