Housing Support Worker

We are looking for a Support Worker to work with young people in a housing support setting. This Support Worker role involves helping young people develop the skills, confidence and stability needed to manage their accommodation and move towards greater independence.

21 Hours per week over 3 days (Long term position 9th November to 15th January initially).

The successful Support Worker will provide practical and emotional support, promote wellbeing and safeguarding, and work closely with partner agencies to help young people achieve positive outcomes.

Day-to-day of the role

• Provide one-to-one support to young people based on individual needs, support plans and risk assessments.
• Help young people manage their accommodation, including cleanliness, safety and daily living routines.
• Support residents with life skills such as budgeting, cooking, attending appointments and managing bills.
• Encourage engagement with education, training, employment and other development opportunities.
• Promote positive behaviour, independence and involvement in decision-making.
• Support young people to access benefits, health services and other relevant community support.
• Carry out welfare checks, property checks and basic health and safety tasks as required.
