As a member of the YNHHS nursing team, the Registered Nurse (RN) applies the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act, the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards for Nursing Practice, the ANA Code of Ethics, and the YNHHS Professional Practice Model. The RN demonstrates leadership, collaboration, and effective communication to achieve autonomy and accountability in patient care, advancing quality outcomes through evidence‑based practice.

• Utilize the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice (2015) to guide nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Coordinate care delivery and transitions, promote health and a safe environment, and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
• Engage in professional performance actions such as ethical practice, culturally congruent care, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.

Graduation from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.

Experience as a Registered Nurse. All nurses are encouraged to advance through the SPIRE clinical advancement program.

Current license as a registered nurse in the State of Connecticut. Clinical specialty certification is highly encouraged.
