Senior/Lead CA Gen Engineer – Mainframe Modernization Overview
We’re seeking a Senior or Lead CA Gen Engineer to join an established team of 15–20 engineers on a large-scale mainframe modernization initiative. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in CA Gen (Broadcom Gen / COOL:Gen) and COBOL who can reverse-engineer legacy applications and help drive their migration to modern technologies, including Java and .NET.
You’ll analyze existing CA Gen models, runtime frameworks, and generated COBOL code to uncover underlying business logic and translate it into detailed technical specifications for replacement systems. Your work will play a key role in reducing dependency on legacy CA Gen and mainframe technology.
This is a fully remote opportunity with no on-call responsibilities. Both Senior and Lead-level candidates will be considered.

Collaborate with architects, developers, and other engineers to validate migration approaches and ensure business logic is accurately preserved.
Identify technical risks, dependencies, gaps, and edge cases within legacy applications.
Document legacy architecture, application workflows, data flows, and system dependencies.
Contribute to knowledge-sharing efforts, helping the team understand complex CA Gen models and COBOL implementations.
