Junior Accountant

Join a privately held group of companies with a strong, established presence across HVAC product distribution, real estate, and importing. Our core distribution company generates $35M+ in annual revenue, and you'll support the full accounting function across all entities making this a uniquely broad and hands‑on role for someone looking to grow.

You’ll be supporting accounting across a family of related businesses:

• HVAC Distributor - distribution of HVAC products to wholesalers (Prophet 21 ERP)/ (Account Edge)
• Property Holding Companies - Ongoing construction and rental revenue (Account Edge)

This is a hands‑on, in-office position focused on the day‑to‑day accounting activities, which will lead to broader responsibilities over time.

• Process A/P invoices and ensure timely payments, capturing purchase discounts with major U.S. fund suppliers
• Monitor and reconcile 13+ bank accounts daily; communicate daily EFT receipts
• Post and track tenant rents at month‑start; record loans throughout the month
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations
• Prepare and file tax provision payments, WSIB reporting, and HST returns (monthly and quarterly across entities)
• Run month‑end inventory valuation; reconcile GL to subledger for inventory, A/R, and A/P
• Maintain asset files and balance sheet account working files

• Take over ADP biweekly payroll, Account Edge payroll, and monthly commission and subcontractor payments
• Administer the Employee Benefits program
• Support year‑end reporting and account analysis preparation for the external accounting firm

• Post‑secondary education in Accounting or Finance
• 1–3 years of hands‑on accounting experience (AP/GL preferred)
• Experience with accounting software such as Account Edge, Prophet 21, or similar ERP
• Exposure to multi‑entity accounting environments an asset
• Strong attention to detail; comfortable with high transaction volumes and recurring deadlines
• Experience with foreign currency (U.S. funds) an asset
• Self‑motivated with attention to detail
