Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Accountant role located in Hamilton, ON. The Accountant will handle various financial tasks including bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, managing budgets, and analyzing financial data. The role also includes preparing personal and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws, assisting with audits, and providing financial advice to clients to support their business growth. The candidate will maintain accurate records and work closely with clients to address their accounting and financial needs.

Qualifications
  • Strong accounting skills, including financial statement preparation, bookkeeping, and budget management
  • Proficiency in using accounting software such as Quick Books, Sage, or similar tools
  • Knowledge of personal and corporate tax preparation, as well as an understanding of Canadian tax regulations
  • Analytical skills to interpret financial data and assess financial health
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to maintain client relationships
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA designation or working towards obtaining it is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in public accounting or tax advisory is a plus
  • Familiarity with audit processes and procedures is an asset
