Compensation: $50,000 - $65,000 Our client is a well-established construction company in Hamilton, Ontario, known for delivering high-quality projects across the region. Their team values professionalism, accountability and teamwork, and they are growing their accounting department. They are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable / Payroll Clerk to join that team and take ownership of payables and payroll for the organization.
This is a newly created opportunity on a team that works closely together and supports one another, with room to grow as the company and its accounting function continue to expand.

Responsibilities
Process and verify supplier invoices, purchase orders and subcontractor statements
Prepare, review and run bi-weekly payroll for employees and subcontractors
Manage payroll deductions and government remittances, including CPP, EI, WSIB and EHTPrepare year-end T4 and T4A filings
Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledgers and resolve vendor discrepancies
Maintain vendor files and keep payment runs on schedule
Support month-end and year-end closing with reconciliations and reporting
Assist with ad-hoc accounting and administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications2-4 years of experience in accounts payable and/or payroll; construction industry experience preferred
Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll compliance and regulations
Proficiency with accounting/payroll software such as Sage 300, Sage 50, ADP or Ceridian Strong MS Excel skills, including pivot tables and reconciliations
Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
Excellent communication and organizational skills
