About this role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular Full time Coordinator - Health Policy & Government Affairs to join our dynamic Legal Services team. The Legal Services team provides legal, privacy, ethics, governance, policy, and risk leadership across Canadian Blood Services product and service areas. Reporting to and working closely with the Director, Health Policy & Governmental Affairs, you will provide high‑level coordination and administrative support to ensure the effective integration and operation of the Health Policy & Governmental Affairs team.
Responsibilities- Organize and facilitate team meetings, track and manage action items, and coordinate calendars to support departmental priorities.
- Support budgeting and reporting activities, prepare and process Director expense reports, and draft and manage correspondence and other documents as required.
- Contribute to the preparation of meeting materials and support the smooth flow of information across internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate departmental reporting, training, onboarding, and corporate/divisional deliverables by tracking deadlines, compiling inputs, and maintaining required documentation.
- Support alignment of priorities, timelines, and deliverables across shared departmental files in collaboration with internal leads (Government Relations, Projects & Integration, and Official Engagement).
- Leveraging coordination and administration skills, provide day‑to‑day support to ensure the effective functioning of the department.
- Apply budgeting and financial administration skills to support department budget development, tracking, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Utilize organization and reporting skills to coordinate departmental reporting, training, onboarding, and corporate/divisional deliverables.
- Collaborate through stakeholder engagement skills to align priorities, timelines, and deliverables across shared departmental files.
- Draft, format, and manage correspondence, briefing materials, and meeting documents with accuracy, completeness, and alignment with organizational standards.
- Track action items and follow‑ups from meetings and stakeholder engagements to enable timely internal and external communications.
- Post‑secondary education in public administration, political science, health administration, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum three to five years of relevant work experience, preferably within health care, government, or a related policy or regulatory environment.
- Strong ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with senior‑level officials, external stakeholders, and cross‑functional internal teams.
- Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage multiple activities, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft
365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Teams). - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including drafting, formatting, and managing correspondence, briefing materials, and reports.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in documentation, reporting, and deliverables.
- Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving, and issues‑management skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment in a fast‑paced environment.

This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time (2 days of the week). You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week, 7.5 hours a day.
