- Communicate with and provide support to stakeholders on job sites, including customers, general contractors, other contractors, union representatives, and regulatory personnel.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all inspections and incident investigations.
- Conduct safety training as needed.
- Conduct safety audits on employee work behaviors, housekeeping, and the condition of equipment and materials.
- Maintain a summary of all audits, inspections, and other action items, ensuring their timely and sustainable completion.
- Ensure compliance with all State, governmental, and legal requirements.
- Communicate any potential or non-compliant issues to the Safety Manager and operations leadership promptly.
- Immediately stop unsafe conditions or behaviors, and promptly counsel individuals or tag out equipment to eliminate unsafe conditions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of construction safety experience.
- Recognized safety certifications, tradecraft certification, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of Ontario Construction Regulations.
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene best practices.
- Must be able to problem-solve and advise on ensuring compliance with the OHSA Construction Regulations and Industrial Establishments.
- Proficiency with MS Office, email, safety recordkeeping, and training databases is preferred.
