What You Will Do
  • Comply with safety requirements and actively promote a positive safety culture.
  • Communicate with and provide support to stakeholders on job sites, including customers, general contractors, other contractors, union representatives, and regulatory personnel.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all inspections and incident investigations.
  • Conduct safety training as needed.
  • Conduct safety audits on employee work behaviors, housekeeping, and the condition of equipment and materials.
  • Maintain a summary of all audits, inspections, and other action items, ensuring their timely and sustainable completion.
  • Ensure compliance with all State, governmental, and legal requirements.
  • Communicate any potential or non-compliant issues to the Safety Manager and operations leadership promptly.
  • Immediately stop unsafe conditions or behaviors, and promptly counsel individuals or tag out equipment to eliminate unsafe conditions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Need To Join Our Team
  • 5+ years of construction safety experience.
  • Recognized safety certifications, tradecraft certification, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Construction Regulations.
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene best practices.
  • Must be able to problem-solve and advise on ensuring compliance with the OHSA Construction Regulations and Industrial Establishments.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, email, safety recordkeeping, and training databases is preferred.
