We’re Hiring:
Jr. Estimator

Location: Hamilton, ON.

Salary: $50,000–$60,000 annually.
Vacancy: 1

Oakridge Landscape Contractors is seeking a Jr Estimator to join our dynamic Estimating team! If you have a passion for precision, enjoy working on diverse projects, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do:
  • Work along side the Chief Estimator, Estimator and Estimator Coordinator.
  • Keep the project list current and updated.
  • Maintain and manage all administrative documentation generated on projects.
  • Interact with Construction personnel and Superintendents.
  • Assist in preparing quotations for all Commercial, municipal and private development construction projects.
  • Have a clear understanding of the scope of work and related costs.
  • Visit the site to become familiar with it and ensure that it represents proposed design/plan.
  • Responsible for gathering all information needed to price the project such as but not limited to: the pick-up of drawings, specifications, addendum's, bidder’s lists, copy of contract, etc.
  • Complete all take off work, review specifications and contracts, obtain subtrade and material prices and keep addendum's current.
What You Bring:
  • Completion of a three-year college program in civil or construction engineering technology and/or Landscaping Architecture.
  • Certification by the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors would be an asset.
  • Ability to complete take off quantities from construction and landscape plans.
  • Ability to physically measure areas onsite (at the project location).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills in Excel and Word Pro.
  • Able to read blueprints.
  • Recognize and follow occupational hazards and standard safety precautions.
  • Valid drivers’ licence with a good drivers abstract.
