Responsibilities- Research and write news copy for digital and broadcast platforms under tight deadlines
- Write other content as needed for all platforms
- Monitor and post to social media and other news feeds
- Monitor live events to stream to our platforms
- Monitor wires for stories needed on broadcast or digital platforms
- Assist producers, reporters and videographers
- Producer, Lineup Editor, Reporter and Web Content Creator skills are an important asset for career growth opportunities
- Other duties as required
- Experience in broadcast and/or CP‑style news writing
- Strong spelling and grammar skills
- Possession of a journalism degree or diploma or equivalent education
- Familiarity with Word Press
- Familiarity with posting to, and interacting on, social media platforms
- Well organized
- Familiarity with ENPS or other content‑management software would be an asset
- Availability to work various shifts, especially weekends, evenings and overnights
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Knowledge of the news makers and current events of Hamilton, Halton, Niagara and Brant
