Home Campus: Fennell (hybrid work arrangements available)

Rate of Pay: Payband 9 ($77,550 - $96,939 per year)

Job summary

Reporting to the Manager, Student Rights and Responsibilities Office (SRRO), the Case Manager and Support Specialist is a key member of the team and supports student success through proactive and responsive approaches to non‑academic student concerns. This position will also be the first point of contact for disclosures and support for cases involving sexual and gender‑based violence.

The incumbent is responsible for receiving concerns/complaints, facilitating accompanying support or referrals, administering and upholding the Student Behaviour Policy, the Sexual Assault and Sexualized Violence Policy, the Student Human Rights Policy, and all issues related to non‑academic student misconduct.

Working closely with College partners, this position is a member of the CARE (Campus Assessment, Response and Education) Team, which proactively identifies, assesses, and coordinates the College’s response to complex or concerning student behaviour and/or situations.

This position plays an important role in offering trauma‑informed and equity‑centred case management supports to students and finds opportunities to employ alternative early intervention and conflict resolution processes.

This position will work from the Fennell campus with some travel between campuses required.

What you’ll be doing Case Management and Student Support Duties
  • Under the supervision of the Manager SRRO, support the triaging and early intervention of student concerns brought to the SRRO.
  • Provide a range of trauma‑informed services for students experiencing sexual and gender‑based violence, including supportive listening, arranging accommodations and consulting with staff and faculty.
  • Provide Case Management support for the CARE Team.
  • Offer complainant and/or respondent support for students engaged in SRRO complaint‑related processes.
  • Conduct sensitive interviews with students, staff, faculty or stakeholders who may have concerns related to the Student Behaviour, Sexual Assault and Sexualized Violence, and/or Student Human Rights Policies integrating equitable, inclusive, and harm‑reductive frameworks.
  • Maintain collaborative working relationships with all staff and faculty and relate to students, staff, and faculty in ways that build confidence and trust.
  • Serve as a point of contact for consultation and clarification of student related College policies and procedures and having knowledge of relevant civil procedures and legislation that impacts the learning environment (e.g. Human Rights, AODA, Bill 132).
  • Consult with faculty/staff/campus partners about individual student situations.
  • Educate students about appropriate behavioural expectations, college policies and procedures and appropriate means of conflict resolution.
  • Assist the Manager SRRO and Risk/Threat Assessment Team members with emergency response as needed.
  • Identify trends of SRRO‑related matters.
  • Participate in SRRO special events and outreach activities.
Administrative Duties
  • Maintain confidential files related to student issues in keeping with the highest standards of legal and professional record keeping.
  • Maintain written files and document all involvement in a file.
  • Utilize Advocate database to manage cases and track data.
  • Assisting the Manager, SRRO with data collection, reports, operations development, manuals, and presentations as required.
