Pastor-Adults and Families; Cantonese

To shepherd and disciple the Cantonese-speaking congregation, with a particular focus on adults and families. This role seeks to build mature disciples of Jesus Christ by equipping believers to embody the gospel through word, action, and deed, in alignment with the church’s mission and vision, attending holistically to spiritual, emotional, and practical needs.

Logos Baptist Church (Milliken) or LBCM is a bi-literate and trilingual church with three congregations, namely Cantonese, Mandarin and English.

• Graduate of a recognized theological institution with a minimum of Master of Theological Studies (MTS) or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in ministering to adults and families, preferably within a North American church context.
• Strong pastoral counseling skills and sensitivity to emotional and spiritual needs.
• A heart for outreach, discipleship, and pastoral care, marked by initiative and compassion.
• Fluent in Cantonese and English;
  Mandarin proficiency is an asset.
• Experience serving in a tri-lingual church context is an asset.

Ministry to Adults and Families

• Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care to adults and families within the Cantonese congregation in alignment with the church’s mission, vision, and ministry priorities.
• Develop a clear understanding of the needs, challenges, and life‑stage realities of adults and families.
• Intentionally build relationships through various channels, including face‑to‑face interaction, digital communication, and social platforms.
• Lead and oversee ministries that support spiritual formation, community building, and holistic care for this group.
• Disciple adults and families, equipping them to grow as faithful and obedient followers of Christ.
• Preach and teach God’s Word with clarity, biblical faithfulness, and cultural relevance to this generation.

General Pastoral Responsibilities

• Minister collaboratively as part of the Cantonese Pastoral Team, working closely with the broader pastoral team to foster unity, shared vision, and integrated ministry across the church.
• Serve under the supervision and direction of the Senior Pastor, participating in regular pastoral accountability, planning, and evaluation.
• Participate in teaching and supporting Sunday School and other educational ministries.
• Plan, develop, and oversee ministry programs, meetings, and schedules related to areas of responsibility.
• Preach and serve in other congregations or ministries of the church as required.
• Maintain regular office hours and fulfill pastoral duties with accountability and professionalism.
• Uphold and adhere to the church’s statement of faith, constitution, policies, and practices.
