Sessional Faculty - PACE Microcredential (Fall 2026/Winter 2027)

Location:

Central Campus, McMaster University (in person).

Hours per week: 7.93.

Contract duration: 7 months.

Wage rate: $9,435.73 (Schedule “A” of CUPE 3906 Unit 2 Collective Agreement). Pay transparency: starting salary will not be less than $17,845.36 per 6 units, or $8,922.68 per 3 units.

Course Description / Responsibilities

The PACE Microcredential provides undergraduate students with an opportunity to integrate academic coursework with experiential learning focused on advancing health equity through physical activity, mobility, and community engagement.

The instructor will oversee the academic components of the course, including student communication, coordination with PACE supervisors, and delivery of the established course structure. The instructor will use the current assessment framework, including existing online lectures, assignments, rubrics, and related course materials provided by the PACE Director.

Required Qualifications
  • PhD in Kinesiology, or a PhD, MSc, or a clinical degree in a related discipline.
  • Experience with experiential education, community‑engaged learning, or applied health promotion.
  • Experience working with clinical populations in community‑based programs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience teaching similar course material in Kinesiology, health promotion, physical activity, mobility, community engagement, or health equity.
  • Experience working with clinical populations in community‑based programs such as PACE.
