Research Educator Faculty Position (Hematology)
The Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (HEI), Faculty of Health Sciences, at McMaster University invites applicants for a full‑time faculty position for a three‑year period (renewable) in the Special Appointment category.
Location:
HSC‑Central Campus.
The successful candidate will hold a joint appointment in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology & Thromboembolism, and will primarily engage in research. The position includes clinical duties, research activities, and educational responsibilities across the university.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical care in and out‑patient settings within the Hematology division.
- Develop and conduct research projects focusing on thrombosis and hemostasis, including grant writing, data analysis, and dissemination of findings.
- Lead evidence synthesis projects, such as systematic reviews and meta‑analyses.
- Teach mandatory courses and supervise students in HEI graduate programs, as well as medical students and residents in undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
- Collaborate with research groups in HEI and with associate groups in the Department of Medicine/Hamilton Health Sciences.
- MD with specialty training in Hematology.
- PhD (or equivalent) in Health Research Methodology or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in clinical research.
- Certification (or eligibility for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
- License (or eligibility for licensure) to practice in the Province of Ontario.
