McMaster University's School of Social Work is seeking a remote Sessional Faculty member to teach SOCWORK 744, focused on community-engaged research and seminar activities. Utilize your advanced skills to inspire students in this interactive course every Thursday.
This teaching role will take place during the Fall/Winter session. Applicants should have an MSW or a related graduate degree along with substantial hands-on research experience. You'll mentor students in developing research projects and ethical considerations in community settings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead engaging seminar discussions each week
• Assist students in designing their research projects
• Provide mentorship throughout project execution
• Engage with community representatives for student collaboration
• Evaluate student assignments and readings
Requirements:
• MSW or equivalent graduate degree mandatory
• Proven experience in community-engaged research
• Understanding of academic-community research partnerships
• Previous teaching experience beneficial
• Knowledge of McMaster REB expectations required
Foster critical thinking and research skills in the next generation of social workers at McMaster University.
