Position: Educational Assistant for Diverse Needs
Make a difference in the lives of students at HWDSB as an Educational Assistant focused on diverse needs.

This role offers meaningful support that fosters a sense of belonging and engagement.

As a vital member of a multidisciplinary team, you will address the unique needs of students requiring additional support in social, emotional, and physical areas. Collaborating with teachers, you will assist in both regular and special education settings, facilitating student hygiene and following individualized plans to ensure success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with intellectual and physical challenges

• Collaborate with educators to tailor interventions

• Assist with personal care tasks including toileting and dressing

• Implement student accommodation guidelines faithfully

• Engage in ongoing professional training sessions

Requirements:

• Diploma or equivalent in Educational Assistance or a related discipline

• Experience in special needs and crisis intervention techniques

• Physical capability to assist with lifting and positioning

• Eagerness to begin immediately

• Sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds
