Position Overview

Part‑time Elementary French & English Teacher/Tutor at Oxford Learning Hamilton, Hamilton, Ontario.

Employment type:

Part Time. Pay: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour.

• Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
• Teach online and in‑person.
• Work in‑person in the learning centre (no online teaching; all lessons are pre‑planned).
• Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Fill in post‑lesson notes.
• Complete daily student communication updates.
• Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
• Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
• Teaching certification an asset.
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum.
• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level.
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

• After‑school and evening hours (3:50 pm – 7:30 pm) Monday to Friday.
• Saturdays (10:00 am – 1:00 pm).
• Commitment until the end of the term in June, with preference for continued work through the summer.
• Must be able to commute to Hamilton, Ontario; relocation packages are not available.
• Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
