Responsibilities
YWCA’s PowerUP small business training programs support new and existing women entrepreneurs with one-on-one coaching, self-employment exploration, business plan training and digital adoption. The Network Coordinator, PowerUP develops, coordinates, supports and promotes the YWCA PowerUP program. The position provides support in the day-to-day operations of the entrepreneurship program to ensure the successful implementation of its major goals and objectives across all project partner YWCAs.
The position provides the logistics for all program internal and external workshop and training events. The ideal candidate has significant experience in building communities, organizing community engagement programs, and working cross-functionally to ensure all network activities reflect the needs of our program participants and partners.
Plan, coordinate and provide project support to partner YWCAs through the execution of project plans with clear timelines, and cross-functional collaboration to the YWCA Hamilton team to successfully delivers on stated outcomes and expected deliverables;
Plan, coordinate and host high-impact networking events and meet-ups for women entrepreneurs, including national events with partner YWCAs;
Attend networking events and meetings in the community, including trade shows, to make connections and promote the Power Up events and initiatives;
Facilitates community outreach, intake and recruitment for PowerUP Network programming;
Serve as a resource in the recruitment of new entrepreneurs and managing communication with current and former entrepreneurs;
Deliver some of the Information Sessions for the Power Up Ready Program and communicate with marketing on what the social media posts should feature;
Promotes and markets the PowerUP program, working with the YWCA marketing department;
Able to take direction and complete tasks on tight deadlines;
Submit program expenses, ensuring each program component meets budget parameters outlined in the collaboration agreement;
Provide regular updates to YWCA Hamilton and team members regarding spending and budget status;
Collects testimonials from clients that have experienced Power Up Programs and activities and share with project lead.
Adheres to appropriate systems to ensure monitoring of projects and initiatives in compliance with work schedules, outcomes and participant requirements;
Increase knowledge on self-employment resources in the ecosystem in order to create these contacts to promote the programs and initiatives of the Center of Innovation;
Create an ongoing calendar of the COE’s activities and program events so we can plan and implement the necessary steps with marketing etc. Then a step-by-step plan on how the events will be implemented in an action…
