YMCA Casual After-School Instructor

Join the YMCA HBB as a Casual After-School Instructor in Hamilton, Ontario and foster learning while supervising children grades 1-5. This flexible part-time role supports educational growth through fun programming.

In this position, you will report to the Area Supervisor and ensure the success of the Beyond the Bell community outreach program.

Your role involves crafting engaging activities, providing academic assistance, and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment. A commitment to at least three workdays each week, especially Fridays, is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate engaging after-school programs for children

• Develop activity plans tailored to individual needs

• Offer homework help to enhance academic performance

• Keep inventory and organize necessary supplies

• Attend mandatory training and development workshops

Requirements:

• At least 6 months of experience delivering programs to children

• Enrollment in Child and Youth Studies or similar course preferred

• Capacity to work with diverse populations and learning abilities

• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

• Valid Intermediate/Standard First Aid and CPR certification
