Manage systems requirements throughout the LRT project lifecycle, ensuring traceability from stakeholder needs through design, verification, and validation. This role is critical to ensuring all LRT systems meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Elicit, analyze, and document systems requirements for LRT systems scope including signaling, OCS, communications, trackwork, and OMSF.
- Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices linking stakeholder requirements to system specifications, design documents, and verification evidence.
- Manage requirements in DOORS, Polarion, or equivalent requirements management tool.
- Facilitate requirements reviews with the client, technical advisors, and systems contractors.
- Ensure requirements compliance with client technical standards, Ontario regulations, and applicable codes (AREMA, APTA, CSA).
- Define verification and validation strategies for systems requirements.
- Analyze change requests for requirements impact and manage requirements baseline control.
- Support interface requirements definition between civil and systems work packages.
- Prepare requirements compliance matrices for design submissions and regulatory approvals.
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Proficiency with requirements management tools (IBM DOORS, Polarion, Jama, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of systems engineering processes per ISO 15288 and IEEE 1220.
- Experience with V-model development lifecycle and verification/validation planning.
- Understanding of rail transit systems including signaling, traction power, and communications.
- Excellent documentation and technical writing skills.
- Experience with configuration management and change control processes.
- INCOSE certification (ASEP/CSEP) or equivalent preferred.
