Job Summary
As an Engineering Intern, you will work closely with our engineering and production teams to support various aspects of our manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on role, where you’ll have the opportunity to learn about project management, food production, troubleshooting equipment, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and gain experience in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for a recent engineering graduate eager to gain experience in the manufacturing and food production industry.
This position is a 8-12 month contract
Key Responsibilities:
Generate Purchase Order Requisition s. Gather quotes and enter the information into the ERP system (Oracle) for Services and Equipment purchase. Process invoices. Receive invoices, review them with the project owner and process them for payment in the Bimbo Canada Invoicing platform. Develop project reports.
Participate in various engineering projects, such as equipment installations, line upgrades, and facility improvements, working closely with the Engineering Manager and senior engineers.
Education:
Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Skills:
Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid Works), and strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
An understanding of manufacturing principles such as Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis is a plus.
Able to think analytically and apply engineering principles to solve real-world production issues.
Skills:
Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Strong attention to detail, especially when working on technical and safety-focused tasks.
