Lead the design and delivery of the Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facility for a major urban LRT project. Oversee all aspects of OMSF engineering including facility design, depot systems, and integration with mainline LRT operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership for all OMSF design and engineering activities.
- Develop OMSF design criteria and specifications aligned with client operational requirements.
- Lead facility master planning including phasing strategies and future expansion provisions.
- Oversee design of maintenance building systems, vehicle storage areas, and operational control facilities.
- Manage design coordination between civil, structural, architectural, MEP, and rail systems disciplines.
- Lead OMSF equipment selection and specification for maintenance, cleaning, and support functions.
- Coordinate OMSF design interfaces with LRV supplier requirements.
- Review and approve OMSF designs, calculations, and contractor submittals.
- Develop commissioning and turnover plans for OMSF facilities and systems.
- Coordinate with municipal authorities on site access, utilities, and permitting.
- Support operations and maintenance planning including staffing, workflows, and training facility requirements.
- Represent OMSF discipline in design reviews with the client and project partners.
- Professional Engineering license (P.Eng.) in Ontario or eligibility for licensure.
- 10+ years of experience delivering rail transit maintenance facilities in North America.
- Expert knowledge of LRV maintenance operations, equipment, and workflows.
- Strong understanding of depot track design and yard signaling systems.
- Experience with facility systems including HVAC, fire protection, and heavy power distribution.
- Proven track record leading complex, multidisciplinary facility projects.
- Familiarity with transit operations and maintenance best practices.
- Experience with Canadian building codes, environmental regulations, and municipal approvals.
