Electrical PLC/Control Specialist - Licensed Electrician

Maintenance. Salary Range: $85K-105K annually. Vacancy Type:
Existing Position.
- Designs, develops and implements control systems programs including PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Control Logix)
- Programs HMI and servo systems
- Develops robotics and automation systems
- Integrates electrical systems
- Coordinates and supervises machine startups and process launch
- Designs control panels, wiring diagrams and BOMs
- Troubleshoots electrical systems (up to 575 V, wiring, fuses, etc.)
- Understands Wonder Ware software
- Instructs maintenance personnel on use, functionality and programming of automation systems
- Mentors licensed electricians in PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Assists in automation cell improvements and implements continuous improvement initiatives related to automation and robotics
- Adheres to policies and procedures, safety, and environmental policies and practices
- Ensures compliance with Quality Management System, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001
- Other duties as assigned
- University degree in Electrical Engineering or college diploma
- Valid Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician (442A and/or 309A) in good standing
- Minimum 3-5 years of demonstrated skills and experience in controls and data acquisition in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Ability to function within multidisciplinary teams and to act as a team lead on specific projects (an asset)
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, MS Office, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication at all levels of the organization
- High level of integrity, dependability, a strong sense of urgency, and results orientation
- Combination of office and manufacturing environment
- Day shift exposure to noise, heights, confined spaces, poor lighting, materials, products and byproducts associated with manufacturing powered metal components, exposure to metal‑working fluids, temperatures, and weather extremes requiring specialized protective devices, clothing or equipment
- Required to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding to reach elevations; ability to crouch for periods, push, pull, lift, and turn while carrying tools, material and equipment in various parts of the facility
- Excessive walking
- Operate material handling equipment including cranes, lift trucks, chain hoists, etc.
