You’ll work cross‑functionally to implement process improvements, develop and maintain metrics, support project execution, and enhance operational flow and capacity at multiple Wescam locations.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing models for Wescam’s diverse product families.
  • Analyze equipment capacity, cycle times, and labour requirements to establish process efficiency standards.
  • Design and optimize manufacturing and test area layouts across Wescam facilities to improve space utilization, flow, and scalability.
  • Lead and maintain the e3 Project Pipeline for Operations Engineering; track progress, drive priorities, and ensure alignment to annual targets.
  • Support ICA initiatives including tooling deployment, layout planning, training coordination, and on‑site readiness.
  • Conduct time studies, labour/lead time analysis, production capacity assessments, and generate actionable improvement metrics.
  • Recommend process changes to improve the utilization of people, materials, equipment, and space.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Support control plans, statistical process control, and other quality assurance tools.
  • Contribute to documentation and reporting to meet AS9100 or equivalent compliance standards (prior experience is an asset).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or Operations Leadership.
It Would Be Great if You Also Had
  • Lean Thinking – Successful implementation of Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Complex Problem Solving – Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Communication – Communicating effectively in writing and verbally as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Judgment and Decision Making – Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Active Learning – Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem‑solving and decision‑making.
  • Negotiation – Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences.
  • Persuasion – Persuading others to change their minds or behavior.
Education and Experience
  • University degree in Engineering or college diploma in Engineering Technology.
  • 5-10 years of experience in an industrial Engineering capacity.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and layout design software.
  • Strong Project Management background with a proven track record of leading projects.
  • A proactive, resourceful mindset with a strong sense of initiative and urgency.
  • Intimate knowledge of current and advanced manufacturing processes and technologies such as Lean/Six Sigma, MRPII, Kanban, JIT.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex topics clearly and concisely.
