Intermediate Electrical Designer / Engineer
Location:
Hamilton
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 + benefits

About The Opportunity We are working with a well-established consulting engineering firm that is continuing to grow its Electrical team. With a strong reputation in the building consulting space, the firm delivers high-quality projects across residential, commercial, and institutional sectors .
They offer a collaborative, team-oriented environment with strong mentorship and a clear path for career growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an Intermediate Electrical Designer/Engineer looking to further develop their technical skills while gaining exposure to a diverse project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities Prepare electrical design drawings and documentation for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
Support projects from concept through to construction, including design development and tender packages
Perform calculations including load calculations, panel schedules, and lighting layouts
Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to ensure integrated design solutions
Participate in client meetings and internal design coordination meetings
Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and assist during construction administration phases
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements
Qualifications Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
3–6 years of experience within a consulting engineering environment (building design)
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
Strong understanding of Ontario Electrical Code and relevant standards
Experience working on residential, commercial, or institutional projects
Strong communication and coordination skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
