Lead Naval Architect

Join BYD Naval Architects as a Lead Naval Architect in Ontario. We're looking for an experienced professional with 5-8 years in naval architecture and marine project management.

In this senior role, you'll guide the engineering team's project workflows from conception to completion. Your technical expertise will contribute to feasibility studies and ensure compliance with industry standards. Collaborate closely with stakeholders and utilize advanced software tools to evaluate and optimize vessel performance during all project phases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and provide mentorship to Junior Naval Architects

• Facilitate project scope definition and planning

• Review engineering calculations and simulations

• Conduct feasibility studies and optimal solution proposals

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Naval Architecture

• 5-8 years of marine engineering experience

• P.Eng certification

• Skills in AutoCAD, Autodesk PDM Collection, and Rhino

• Experience with Maxsurf and GHS software
