the Role
The Test Engineering – Electrical team at L3
Harris WESCAM is responsible for designing, developing, and validating functional and system-level test equipment, including test boxes, circuit card assemblies (CCAs), and cables that are deployed throughout the factory as well as at contract manufacturers. The team also develops robust, reliable test software and firmware to simulate a range of signals, including mixed-signal I/O, EO/IR camera sensor data, and digital communication protocols, maximizing UUT test coverage and product quality.
Working closely with design engineering and cross-functional NPI teams, the team defines test requirements, assesses product testability, and ensures Design for Testability (DFT) principles are embedded throughout the product lifecycle.

- Design, develop and support functional and system-level test boxes, and test wiring harnesses
- Define test requirements, developing schematics, PCB layouts, and test interface wiring harnesses for simple to intermediate UUT designs
- Follow departmental processes for test development including design reviews, configuration management, requirements management and test equipment qualification
- Design, develop and manage Boundary Scan tests and pass thru’ assembly tests
- Involved in technical reviews and provide feedback on the designs of fellow Test Engineers/Test Engineering Designer
- Engage in continuous improvement to enhance Test Automation and Test architecture
- Familiar with various technologies in Electronics and Test Engineering.
- Familiar with circuit card assemblies, wiring harnesses, and circuit card manufacturing processes.
